Evan Flory Barnes & The Esteemed Gentlemen
Evan Flory Barnes & The Esteemed Gentlemen Live at The Rabbit Box - Album Recording Party!
Doors 7pm ~ Music starts at 8pm
$15 adv. / $20 dos : https://givebutter.com/12-28-EFB
The Esteemed Gentlemen are a power trio featuring Evan Flory-Barnes-bass guitar/vocals, Matt Clough-guitar and Joey Ziegler-drums. The band conveys Flory-Barnes’ original songs with poetic subtlety, intense depth, palpable joy and fiery intensity all within one song, expressing something that is both psychedelic and grounded, experimental yet danceable.
Flory-Barnes' voice is as inspired by classic soul singers like Curtis Mayfield, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye, as it is by experimental pop artists Björk and Radiohead, as it is by grunge era icons Chris Cornell and Jerry Cantrell. With lyrics touching on self-ownership, hard won self-love, personal sovereignty and the lessons gleaned from relationships with mischievous humor and a philosopher’s heart. His bass playing while incredibly flexible and fluid is deeply rooted in the all-encompassing groove.
Matt Clough, is a singular guitarist, sonically inventive, supremely lyrical and harmonically creative. Clough is equally adept at expressing nuanced restraint and raw passion, crafting beautiful rhythm parts along with tastefully melodic solos that push the creative edge all while being deeply heartfelt.
Joey Ziegler, plays the drums with a soulful precision, sense of groove and feel paired with a sophistication that is equally playful and explorative. With great attention to detail, Ziegler extracts unique colors from the drum set, creating a sonic palette that is incredibly musical and entirely his own, all while doing it with infectious enthusiasm.

Loosegroove Records presents Brittany Davis & Zoser at the Rabbit Box on December 29th
Doors 6pm ~ Music begins at 7pm
$15 adv. / $18 dos : https://givebutter.com/12-29-LoosegroovePresents
Brittany Davis, a non-binary, blind-since-birth musician/producer originally from Kansas City, Davis released their debut EP for Loosegroove, I Choose to Live, March 2022 . Brittany Davis continues to work as a producer of music and a vessel of sonic sound and should be heard with every fiber of one's being. “Britt’s work with Painted Shield is just scratching the surface of what they are capable of, but if I were to list the two biggest aspects of how they’ve impacted the band, it would be their incredible vocal harmonies and their wicked ear, which allows them to layer color and other musical ideas to existing tracks,” Gossard says. “It’s a high priority for me to have more songwriting from Britt on our next album, and to give them more freedom to create outside the lines. I can’t wait to hear it.” Spin / Jonathan Cohen | April 13, 2023
Zoser is a singer/songwriter and music bender whose music has no boundaries. With a soulful voice, thoughtful lyrics, and a guitar, his music shifts seamlessly between pop, hip-hop, R&B, and folk. The writing is personal, the music idiosyncratic, all to capture the feelings and mood of each song. With influences ranging from Ed Sheeran to Childish Gambino, a simple six-string, and mic, Zoser transforms into a “beat box,” lending percussive bass to funky and melodious rhymes. He made his recording debut in 2019 with the EP release “Genesis” followed by the EP “Evolve” in 2020, independently recorded and released. Zoser is currently the Co-Chair of the Totem Star Leadership Collective, a non-profit music and mentorship program for underserved youths.
Loosegroove Records is a Seattle-based record label created and run by guitarist and songwriter Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam, Painted Shield, BRAD), and drummer/Creative Director Regan Hagar (BRAD, Malfunkshun, Satchel). Distributed through The Orchard, Loosegroove prides itself on its curated and eclectic roster of artists encapsulating a broad range of musical genres. Currently working with alt-rock band Tigercub, singer/songwriter Jonny Polonsky, folksinger Mason Jennings, Painted Shield featuring blind, BIPOC, nonbinary singer, rapper, sound manipulator Brittany Davis, along with new signings, James and the Cold Gun, Zoser, and more.
Loosegroove Records began in the 90s releasing music from Malfunkshun, featuring Regan and the late Andrew Wood, Critters Buggin, Weapon of Choice, and punk band, The Living, which includes Duff McKagan among others. In 1998 they signed Queens of the Stone Age and released the bands' debut album as well as a few successful movie soundtracks and hip-hop compilations before taking down their shingle in 2000. They regrouped again in 2020, with a strong foundation and reputation in artist development and A&R. https://loosegroove.indiemerch.com/

Thursday / January 30, 2025 @ 7:30pm
$25 General // $30 Premium : https://tickets.thetripledoor.net/eventperformances.asp?evt=2035
Jill Sobule’s work is at once deeply personal and socially conscious, seriously funny and derisively tragic. In a dozen albums spanning three decades of recording, the Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer has tackled such topics as the death penalty, anorexia nervosa, shoplifting, reproduction, the French Resistance, adolescent malaise, LGBTQ issues, and the Christian Right. Her hits include “I Kissed A Girl”—the first openly gay-themed song ever to crack the Billboard Top 20—and the alt-rock anthem “Supermodel” featured in the film “Clueless”. Sobule was one half of The Jill & Julia Show, providing music while actor Julia Sweeney contributes storytelling. Jill is considered a pioneer in crowdfunding and is constantly exploring and creating new models for artists in an ever-changing music industry. Her latest record is “Nostalgia Kills”, produced by Ben Lee and released on her own Pinko Records label. Jill’s theater credits include a musical adaptation of the Broadway classic “Yentl”, “Prozak and the Platypus”, and “Times Square”. Her latest, “F*ck 7th Grade”, was postponed due to Covid, but was performed and filmed for three days at a make-shift drive-in over the Summer. The musical is a finalist for the Lambda Literary awards in LGBTQ Drama category this June.
“Jill Sobule can claim her place among the stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical, funny and more than a little poignant …grown-up music for an adolescent age.”

Her solo project explores a haunting blend of new wave, post-punk, and electronica, resulting in a sound that has drawn comparisons to artists such as Kate Bush, Suicide, and LCD Soundsystem. Described by one listener as “the Björk and Gary Numan combination I didn’t know I needed,” Quilli Fin’s music channels eerie atmospheres and emotional intensity. On bass, Austin Hund joins Quilli with noisy, swelling bass lines that bring depth and texture while also infusing the music with an unsettling grit and groove. "I started playing piano at church as a kid with a love of gospel and jazz. As I grew older I found my love of hip hop and R&B songs. I like to describe myself as a vessel of sound and experience music in spirit and colors. Everything is an instrument to me." Brittany Davis https://brittanydavismusic.net/
Evan Flory-Barnes' voice is as inspired by classic soul singers like Curtis Mayfield, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye, as it is by experimental pop artists Björk and Radiohead, as it is by grunge era icons Chris Cornell and Jerry Cantrell. With lyrics touching on self-ownership, hard won self-love, personal sovereignty and the lessons gleaned from relationships with mischievous humor and a philosopher’s heart. His bass playing while incredibly flexible and fluid is deeply rooted in the all-encompassing groove. https://evanflory-barnes.bandcamp.com/track/im-out

Lilly Miller - Jeremy Ferrara - St. Yuma
The Rabbit Box presents Lilly Miller's single release show with Jeremy Ferrara and St. Yuma.
Doors 7pm ~ Music begins at 8pm
Tickets start at $15: https://givebutter.com/11-9-LM-JF-SY
“Miller's guitar is warm and inviting, and frankly, alongside her gorgeous and captivating voice, the two gave me goosebumps. From my ears, I'm hearing echoes of Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez with the lonely melodic tones of Nick Drake. Although 'The Fool' is a short four-song recording, it engulfs the ears with rich tenderness and deep feelings. A beautiful debut.” - Jay Freeman, Pitch Perfect Magazine. https://www.lillymiller.net/
These are the kind of gentle reminders you get when you listen to Portland songwriter Jeremy Ferrara. Regarded as “open-hearted and determinedly honest” by Americana UK, and as “exuding as much gentleness and vulnerability as anything in Nick Drake’s catalog” by Americana Highways, Ferrara has had a storied first few years. Opening for John Craigie, Field Medic, touring the US and Europe multiple times, and signing to a label, all while working as the guitarist in fellow rising star Margo Cilker’s touring band. Rarely do folk songwriters remain as centered, as earnest, and as entertaining. Ferrara comes through on his latest Darkness Is A Bright Sound with a full band heralding his philosophical delivery of songs full of gentle acceptance, and purified positivity. https://jeremyferraramusic.com/
Established in 2015 “St. Yuma” serves as the creative outlet for singer/songwriter Stevan Alva. Whether performing solo or with a band, the objective has always been to evoke emotional depth through music and sonic exploration, drawing inspiration from artists like Damien Jurado, Califone, Silver Jews, and Wilco. St. Yuma’s latest offering "Country Sleight of Hand" was crafted during and after singer-songwriter Alva's departure from Texas following the passing of his father, ultimately settling in Seattle, WA. The backdrop of Alva's new beginnings in Seattle provided an inspiring setting to confront and compose the new record. Thematically, the album delves into the complexities of death, love, and life's uncertainties. Recorded at The Unknown in Anacortes, WA, the album boasts a diverse sonic palette, beautifully captured and mixed by Marshall Pruitt of Austin, TX. https://styuma.bandcamp.com/music

Von Wildenhaus is the surrealist rock outfit led by Ben Von Wildenhaus, a mercurial, enigmatic performer who has created a world around his band. https://benvonwildenhaus.bandcamp.com/album/von-universe
“Von Wildenhaus, hailing from the fog-drenched Pacific Northwest, is an apocalyptic avant-pop lounge act, a bizarro rock and roll band as comfortable working in American folk idioms as covering Klaus Nomi. Ben Von Wildenhaus leads a cast of shadowy conspirators in conjuring this darkly sonorous music, most notably, the spectral presence of singer Billie Bloom, who delivers ecstatic melodies with fearless and riveting devotion that have found admirers in The Quietus and Iggy Pop.” It’s Psychedic Baby Magazine
